Meet Dave
Like so many of you in North Hempstead, Dave grew up in New York City before calling Port Washington home 16 years ago. He went to PS 230, then attended Hunter College High School, and later earned a full scholarship to BU to study education and psychology.
A serial entrepreneur with seven businesses, New York Times bestselling author of 5 books, global keynote speaker, and a HUGE Mets fan, Dave moved here to build a family together with his wife, Carrie. They've raised three children here while Dave has served on the Port Washington School Board, as his son’s baseball coach, and as an active member of the Reconstructionist Synagogue of the North Shore.
But growing up was a challenge. His family often struggled with money because his dad, sadly, had a serious mental illness. He learned responsibility at a young age, helping to earn money for his family and taking care of his little brothers. So many families in North Hempstead have their own stories of struggle and success–and they deserve a leader who listens, who understands their story, and who has been in their shoes.
Dave has been featured in many media outlets, including the New York Times, the TODAY show, CBS Early Show, BBC, Financial Times, and more. Additionally, Dave is a Board member of The Whisper Group, which helps women turn lifestyle businesses into life-changing assets, and Vice President of the Grateful Giving foundation. He is also an investor in several companies through Kerpen Ventures, a firm which invests exclusively in underrepresented and social impact founders.
Dave’s dream is to bring his unique set of skills that have helped him achieve business success to the Town of North Hempstead. His goal is to revive what’s broken and help small business owners and families by creating a more efficient government, so our communities can truly thrive..
And that’s why he’s running for Town Supervisor.
